Nearly 3 decades ago I was teaching a youth Bible Study in my living room and I heard the voice of God (not literally heard it, but as loud as possible on the inside), that God had called me to be a pastor. I had led a “Youth For Christ” group at a school and had been a leader with the youth at the Baptist Church that I went to, but a pastor?!! I love teaching, helping people and evangelizing any way possible, but a pastor! It was shocking to me! So that is the beginning of the journey.

The Lord put me through some intense discipleship and some classes and gave me some encouragement from my senior pastor to plant a church in Orange County. So in 1994 we started the process and moved to Orange County in 1995. Soon thereafter we planted Hope Chapel Orange Coast. It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.   We started holding Bible Studies in homes, and then had a Sunday “potluck” with a teaching. The next fall we rented a community center in Huntington Beach and had our grand opening. We later moved to Costa Mesa to a bigger community center and finally moved in January 2009 to a leased facility in Costa Mesa where our current ministry center is located.

It has been rewarding experience to see so many people touched by God, obtaining eternal life, being  released from their bondages and “past” that has held them back (and down), not to mention the physically healings.

This church began with rich fellowship, practical teaching and passionate worship, and we carry on in the same manner today.
